Owl Cake

Someone actually sent me a picture of this to make for their granddaughter and I loved it so much I decided to do it for my own little girl! Owls are so cute!

"Monkey in a tree" cake

If it isn't obvious, this is based off the kids song about monkeys in a tree and an alligator. I really wasn't certain how this cake would turn out. I was very happy with the results. I Love the softer colors. This was for another friend of mine who happens to be sisters of the friend from the Spiderman cake. They have a big family so of course there are cousins with birthdays that fall on the same weekend. Oh, and the smash cake was gluten and dairy free. I enjoyed making this cake for this sweet little girl.

"Gamorous" Birthday cake

I made this a while ago. For those who haven't heard, my husband is in Germany for work right now and finding spare time to update the blog is hard to come by. You can't tell in the picture but the back of this cake will probably earn a spot on Cake Wrecks. Around the cake are cute girly words-one of which being "glamorous" or should I say "gamorous". Yes indeed, I did that. Thankfully, it was the back of the cake and everyone was very sweet about it but still. Pretty embarrassing! Other than that, I love this one!

Green Ruffle Cake

For my mom's birthday this year, I wanted to make something pretty and something I had never done before. I would love to make this in other color combos.

Smash Cake

Hope everyone had a great holiday season! Time to get crackin on 2012 !I've actually done a couple of cakes recently but forgot pictures. I did the ASU grad cake again-it basically looked identical with a different name. Cupcakes for a baby blessing and a birthday cake for a cop. I have a lot going on in February and will make sure to remember to take those dang pictures!

Love the colors on this cake- pink, cream and dark brown.

I decided after this cake that smash cakes can't be ordered by themselves. Actually, unless I happen to be making other cakes that week and can add onto the cake batter and frosting, then I can swing it. Never hurts to ask me. :)

Red and black Damask birthday

Black on red = cool! And We added some rhinestones to the chandeliers. And those are stiletto's if you can't tell. It was a fun cake weekend!

Dragonfly and Butterfly cake

Quite honestly, I was pretty sure I was going to butcher this cake. Thankfully, it all came together. Grateful for all the cake tools they are coming up with. Makes it easier to come up with stuff (and fix things when you realize your messing up!).

Pink and white Zebra

I do the bow standing up most of the time so it was fun to do it this way. Zebra print is another design I never tire of. Super fun cake for this gal-suited her perfectly!

Princess Cake

My first crown, which was similar to previous ones, broke. So, I decided to take a different approach due to time restraints. If I had the time, I would have added more detail but it was fun to do something different and it probably went better than what I had planned anyway. The little girls' name is Paisley which is my new favorite name (so cute). What kind of cake person would I have been not to add paisley accents to the cake?

Damask Birthday

This was for a very deserving mother of 8. I have to give my hubs a shout out though because he helped me add the damask. Imagine holding a flimsy stencil in line and in place, smearing icing on it and scraping it off (evenly) all on your own. With that, you can't press too hard on it or you'll dent the cake. That's even tough with 2 people. It really is worth the effort. I just love how it turns out. The pearlization hides the fading in the flower but I can't help myself but to pearlize. I love this cake.

"Girly and Fun" baptism cake

My only instruction was to make something girly and fun. Does this cake not scream exactly that? This is definitely one of my favorites!

Mini Princess Cake

I was thrilled to make this cake for this young lady. She turned 8 and it was her baptism day. She is a huge cake fan (watches all those fun shows) and has always wanted one. She reminds me a little of myself. She is the first of 5 kids. I am the eldest of 6. I know what a responsibility that is and she does such a great job helping out her family. I hope it was a great day for her!

Princess Tea Party Cake with Cookies

I have been imagining what this cake would look like for weeks. It was actually quite difficult for me because there are so many cute things you can do with a princess theme and a tea party theme. At least the colors were narrowed down to pink and purple. I really stressed the night before trying to come up with something. I am pleased with how it turned out. And other than the card cookies I did a while back, this was my first cookie order. I am going to add cookies to my menu. They will range from $1.50-ish to $3 each depending on the detail and how many is ordered. These, for example, had little detail and were on the lower end price-wise. You can't tell in the pic but they are pearlized along with the cake. Cute stuff!

Another, yet different, cupcake cake

My baby sister has yet to grow out of her cupcake obsession. This is the 3rd year I have done a cupcake cake but instead of the large cupcake I normally do, I took a different route. I wasn't totally satisfied but when she said "this is the best on yet", I considered it a success. Oh, and she turned 18 but as you can see, she's basically still a kid. Love ya Stacy and happy birthday!

Crochet Cake

My sister in-law does a lot of crochet work and she is amazing! She's made a ton of these cute flowers that you can put on hats and headbands or whatever (hence the flowers). Here is her etsy link http://www.etsy.com/shop/forumyonly1. She also makes hats, skirts, toys, and probably whatever else you can think of. I wish I had had something to roll the fondant on to make it have some sort of crochet pattern. That would have been cool. Can you tell it's a skirt on top? My kids thought it was a volcano.

Girly Animal Print!

I KNOW!! I'm in love with this one! I wasn't going to take any orders for December but when they said they liked animal print, I had to do it. It was supposed to be a two tier but I had some extra batter and I very badly wanted to make it 3. I want to do more like this-hint hint. :)

Ladybug Cake

This one I did a week or two ago. I've been lazy getting it on here. I've done this design before. It is really cute and fun. I also did a smash cake the shape of a ladybug but I accidentally deleted the picture. Now baby time. Looking forward to our new addition and hopefully I can get back to cakes soon!

Colorful Sweet 16

Are these colors not so fun?! I love it! The flower/ball thingy's were to match the decor. I really like them and they were so easy and fun to create. Oh to be 16 again...such a fun time.
