Thomas Cake
These little trains were actually pretty difficult. Thankfully, they look enough like Thomas and Percy that it made my nephew very happy.

Monster Truck Cake
I normally don't put non-edibles on my cakes but this was Halloween weekend and I did not have the time to create fondant trucks and cars. Still came out cute.

Damask wedding
This cake is the reason I even bought the stencil (yes, it's been planned for a while). It was a fun change to do it on a square cake. The gal who ordered it made the styrofoam squares dressed in ribbon for the bottom of each of the tiers. What a difference it made in the height of the cake. So pretty.

Cupcake theme everything
I had something different in my mind for my daughter's first birthday. Sadly, I drew a complete blank and could decide on nothing! Finally, I bought her a first birthday shirt and it had a cupcake on it. So I went with it. Cupcake shaped cookies, cupcake cake pops, and of course the traditional cupcake. This was my first attempt at cake pops. They, for sure, taste amazing. I won't eat cake anymore (I don't know, I guess I'm sick of it or something) but put a cake pop in my hand, it's gone in 2 seconds flat. Oh and yes, you are reading this right. It has been a whole year since I had my little Harlee Jo.

Spiderman cake
I had something way cuter in mind for my sons birthday but this is EXACTLY what he wanted. He was with me beginning to end, color by color, designing his own cake. Although, I added the webbing on my own and he was pleasantly surprised the next morning to find it.

Red and black Damask birthday
Black on red = cool! And We added some rhinestones to the chandeliers. And those are stiletto's if you can't tell. It was a fun cake weekend!

Hawaiian Rehearsal Dinner Cake
This cake, in a whole, is my happy place. I can close my eyes and picture myself on a beach chair (on the beach of course), in the sun, listening to the waves and feeling the light sprinkle of water hit my face. The reason for this theme-the couple is going to Hawaii for their honeymoon. I wanted this cake to be a little more romantic-like with the sunset seen and all. I added the hump back whale because that is big in Hawaii and very memorable for me. I went scuba diving during the whale season and their noises were so distinct and so loud under the water, I felt like I was swimming right next to one at times. Hawaii is the most amazing place and I hope this happy couple has a great time!

"Jake and the Neverland Pirates" cupcakes
I have never heard of this cartoon but it looks really cute. I think cupcakes with accents on it like this take me longer than a cake. I want to say I spent at least 8 hours (for 50 cupcakes) putting the fondant pieces together. The best part and what makes it all worth it is topping a cupcake off with it's fondant piece. Way fun!

Dragonfly and Butterfly cake
Quite honestly, I was pretty sure I was going to butcher this cake. Thankfully, it all came together. Grateful for all the cake tools they are coming up with. Makes it easier to come up with stuff (and fix things when you realize your messing up!).

Black damask with red bow
This compliments the invite. The invite was all black Damask with a plain white wedding dress in the middle with a red ribbon around the waist. All of my previous damask cakes were great practice for this one!

Pink and white Zebra
I do the bow standing up most of the time so it was fun to do it this way. Zebra print is another design I never tire of. Super fun cake for this gal-suited her perfectly!

Hawaiian Luau cake for twins!
The best part about this cake was meeting the two little boys. They are just so dang cute-personality and all! I think this was my biggest birthday order to date. 2 tier, 2 smash, 24 cupcakes. I guess that happens when you have to do double. When the boys were first born, they had to color coordinate them to tell them apart. We made sure to identify them on the cake in their given color. I just love that! Sea turtles are a big thing to this family as well so we sea turtle'd it up! I had a great time with this one!

CTR Cake and cupcakes
Despite your religious preference, "Choosing The Right" is always a good thing! I love this acronym/symbol and everything it stands for. The fact that it is also green-the color in which I am slightly obsessed with-makes it even more special for me. This cake was to celebrate the birthdays of a class of kids turning 8 this year. I had so much fun making the little shields for the cupcakes! The cake was for the party and cupcakes to send home. What an awesome teacher! Those kids are lucky to have her!

Damask Bachelorette
The gal I did the chandelier bridal shower cake for wanted my recent 40th birthday cake design for her bachelorette party. Thankfully, I still had her colors on hand. I've gotten an awful lot of practice in with the stenciling and I'm so glad because I really needed it. I definitely don't tire of the damask look. It's just cool.

Princess Cake
My first crown, which was similar to previous ones, broke. So, I decided to take a different approach due to time restraints. If I had the time, I would have added more detail but it was fun to do something different and it probably went better than what I had planned anyway. The little girls' name is Paisley which is my new favorite name (so cute). What kind of cake person would I have been not to add paisley accents to the cake?

Damask Birthday
This was for a very deserving mother of 8. I have to give my hubs a shout out though because he helped me add the damask. Imagine holding a flimsy stencil in line and in place, smearing icing on it and scraping it off (evenly) all on your own. With that, you can't press too hard on it or you'll dent the cake. That's even tough with 2 people. It really is worth the effort. I just love how it turns out. The pearlization hides the fading in the flower but I can't help myself but to pearlize. I love this cake.

"Girly and Fun" baptism cake
My only instruction was to make something girly and fun. Does this cake not scream exactly that? This is definitely one of my favorites!

Flower pot cake
I came into work Tuesday and realized I had forgotten my friends birthday at work. So by Thursday, I came up and created this. I really butchered the pot. I am terrible at carving cake and I made the bottom way too small. While driving to work, it tipped over and was totally ruined (the pot part). I will do that a lot differently next time but aren't the flowers pretty? I am so doing this again.

Bubble bath cake!
I love this kid and he loves bubbles so there you go. Way too fun! I loved glazing the bubbles to give them that special bubble shine and sparkle.

Purple and green square wedding cake
WHEW!!!! I have to say, I am a bit proud of myself for this cake. It has had me scared for a while and I can't believe I pulled it off. It's my biggest real cake to date-and by a lot. It was so heavy! This was a milestone in my decorating career. I LOVE how it turned out and the colors and flowers were so fun. It just came together so nicely. Half the cake is red velvet and half chocolate. Pictures could have been better-the lighting wasn't terrific and I didn't think to move the boxes.

Cars 2 Cake
I wish I had been able to put a little more love into this cake. I intended to spend more time on it (quality-wise) and add a few things but besides my crazy week last week and the crazy one I'm currently in, all 3 of my kiddo's developed ear infections Friday and Saturday. I was really lagging when it came time to make this one. I also had to research Cars 2 (sad, I have 2 boys and I know nothing of the sequel to Cars). I guess it's about some sort of world race (hence the Earth).

Cool flower wedding cake
Credit for the flowers belongs to a cake friend of mine who came up with them. They were pretty easy and look way cute on a cake. Happy with how this turned out.

Clothes line baby shower + cookies
My very first cake order was for a baby shower. My original idea was something like this but I discovered that it was way beyond my skill level. And though the cake was cute when it left my house, it fell apart by the time the shower started. Amazing how far I've come since then. It was fun designing the little baby clothes on this one!
Onsie cookies. I am still getting the hang of this cookie thing. I learn something new each time I do cookies. I am not totally satisfied with where I am now but like cakes, hopefully someday I will be. Still cute though.

Damask/Chandelier Bridal Shower Cake
Darn. I didn't realize I had a smudge on my camera-explains the fuzzy spot right in the middle of the top tier. I wasn't sure that the green ribbon would look good with the black and white design but once I added it, it looked gorgeous. I almost didn't add the flowers because I loved it so much by itself. And the reaction of the bride-to-be was very sweet. I have a very busy and scary month ahead of me, cake-wise, and her response gave me the little boost I needed.
I wanted to post this because I was kind of excited that I was able to color match with the sample she sent me. I love color matching and creating/putting colors together.

Godzilla Cake
My Ryker turned 3 on Saturday. Both my boys are OBSESSED with Godzilla. You may be asking yourself "how in the world can a 3 year old be obsessed with such an old and outdated fictitious character?". The answer: Netflix. My kids stumbled upon the old Godzilla shows and cartoons and fell immediately in love. And of course his cake had to be Godzilla. The day I made it, he couldn't stop telling me how much he loved me and how cute I was (my kids are crazy affectionate when you do things they are really excited about). The cake flavors were fun too. I decided to experiment with some fillings with chocolate cake. One had M&M's and the other was peanut butter. Happy birthday my little love!

ASU Graduation Cake
I think the flowers add such a cute touch. I have to say, I have a sister going to ASU so I am a bit of a fan. :) I say this with a lot of cakes but I really enjoyed this one. I just love the horde of flowers coming down the side.

Skateboard cake II
This is actually the brother of Nathaniel from the other skateboard cake I did. We changed it up a bit to match his skateboard colors. I love the graffiti font. These are a couple of pretty cool kids, for sure!

Mini Princess Cake
I was thrilled to make this cake for this young lady. She turned 8 and it was her baptism day. She is a huge cake fan (watches all those fun shows) and has always wanted one. She reminds me a little of myself. She is the first of 5 kids. I am the eldest of 6. I know what a responsibility that is and she does such a great job helping out her family. I hope it was a great day for her!

John Deere Cake
I can't believe this little boy is two already. I made his mother her shower cake when she was pregnant with him (the cowboy one). That was also about the time I was just getting into cake decorating. Man how time flies. Gotta love his name too!

Fallish Wedding cake
It's been a long time since I had a consult with this couple. I completely forgot there was going to be a topper. So the first picture is what it looked like before I had to alter it a bit to include the topper. I was concerned this morning when I realized there wasn't as much height on the top as I would have liked. I'm glad I didn't worry enough to do anything about it. Ha ha! This cake quite literally matched the decor perfectly! I was happy with the way it turned out. Oh, and the filling was a new one- chocolate cake with cream cheese and cherry filling. Holy deliciousness.

Shark/Chameleon Cake
This was a first for me-one cake, two themes. One was for a boy who loves sharks. The other for a girl who loves chameleons. This was a rare instance where it came out better than I imagined in my head. I am in love with the chameleons. They are by far the cutest lizard and they were so much fun to make. Then there are 3 different sharks, great white, hammer, and tiger. Super cool! Okay, no weird combos for those of you thinking about it . Like, no farm animals/ballet type deal. :)

Pink, black and white 40th birthday
Last but not least, this fun 40th birthday cake. I love the party bows but I really need to get some more practice in with them. They can be pretty tricky. Most of my cakes this week were lemon which was odd. I usually don't do that much lemon but I have to say (I'm sure Ive said it before) it is my favorite flavor. I usually can't resist the scraps. All were filled with raspberry preserves. So good.

Princess Tea Party Cake with Cookies
I have been imagining what this cake would look like for weeks. It was actually quite difficult for me because there are so many cute things you can do with a princess theme and a tea party theme. At least the colors were narrowed down to pink and purple. I really stressed the night before trying to come up with something. I am pleased with how it turned out. And other than the card cookies I did a while back, this was my first cookie order. I am going to add cookies to my menu. They will range from $1.50-ish to $3 each depending on the detail and how many is ordered. These, for example, had little detail and were on the lower end price-wise. You can't tell in the pic but they are pearlized along with the cake. Cute stuff!

Horde Cake
Most of you are scratching your head, right? This is a symbol from a computer game. No offense, but I hate computer games (except solitaire) more than almost anything. However, I am grateful my brother in-law likes them. I really needed his cake to be easy this week and that it was.

Less is more...
Black and white wedding. Very chic. I seriously love doing the big fondant bows. So pretty. Other than it being square, it is definitely one of the simplest cakes I've done.
